Baptisms
Baptisms for babies and children take place in a service often referred to as a Christening.
Within this service, parents and families give thanks to God for the birth of their child.
What is Baptism?
Baptism is the beginning of a child’s Spiritual journey and parents and Godparents acknowledge their own faith and pledge before God to bring up their child following Christian values and teaching.
They also pledge to pray regularly for their child. Towards the end of the service, baptised children are welcomed into the fellowship of the church family and are presented with a baptism candle and certificate.
When do Baptisms take place?
Baptism services at St. Michael’s take place on Sunday mornings.
